Athletic Performance

...the action or PROCESS of carrying out or accomplishing an action, task, or function as it related to an athlete.

The key word is PROCESS as it indicates a series of actions or steps, NOT the end goal. The PROCESS that I'm talking about is creating a good foundation for optimal athletic performance.

This is done by first performing an evaluation to assess individual strengths and areas that need improvement, as well as really starting to get the right mindset of what it meant to train for optimal performance. You see, without the right thought process and mindset, you make reaching your goals less likely to become reality.

"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right."
-Henry Ford

While every program is going to be individualised, below are some of the more common ways I approach training for athletic performanch:

  • Movement Prep
(similar to a warm-up but much better)
Hip activation, dynamic stretching, movement integration, & neural activation

  • Speed, Agility, Explosive movements
Any combination of the above based on the athlete's needs and time of year.
  • Strength training
Working on any combination of strength, power, hypertrophy, and/or endurance.
  • Metabolic Conditioning / Challenge / Competition
Typically working on body composition, mental toughness, competitiveness and working on some weaknesses.

If you feel that this sounds like the environment that you want or need to be a part of, contact Coach Leo for an initial assessment to see if this is the right place for you.

Personal Training

While not everyone that I have worked with is an athlete, one of the commonalities I do find in all of my clients is the drive to improve. Whether that's improving strength, body compassion, metabolic markers, health, endurance, or the ability to perform daily task, there is a good chance I can help you with your journey.

I like to start things off my having a consult to get to know each other and make sure that we believe we will work well with each other. We will cover the basics, medical & training history, goals, expectations, and most importantly, in my opinion, your mindset.

-Dalai Lama

Once we get an idea of how to start working on your mindset, we then get to the evaluation process. We typically take a number of measurements and pictures to be able to check how you are progressing and evaluate any possible to change with your program.

After your initial evaluation, I will take the time to make your individualized workout to get you one step closer to your goal. If you feel like be I would be able to help you reach your goals, contact Coach Leo for an initial assessment to see if this is the right place for you.
